Custom Must-Haves

Every love story is unique and there’s no better day to highlight it than your wedding day. Join us as we count down the top 10 ways to bring custom elements into your wedding.

10. Koozies

Let’s be real, they’re a necessary evil. Especially for the bar. We all have those baskets of random koozies we’ve collected from all our friends’ weddings, so why not add yours?

9. Cups

Much like the koozies, I think personalized cups are also necessary for the bar. 16 oz. cups are perfect for mixed drinks, 12 oz. cups would be best for wine. Regardless, cups being plastic is the safest option when the party gets rowdy and cups end up on the floor.

8. Napkins

Cocktail napkins are ok, but you know what’s better? Linen-like monogrammed guest towels. These can be used as dinner napkins or guest towels in the bathroom at your event. Not to mention, the leftovers can be used at home for parties or on your bar.

I would encourage my couples that want a cocktail napkin to make it something fun. Like 3 fun facts about you both or an illustration of your pet.

7. Matches

Matches are making a comeback. Keep them in your drawer in the kitchen, it is hurricane season and you can never be too prepared. Or keep them in your bathroom in a trinket tray, IYKYK.

6. Seating Chart

This is probably my favorite way to bring personality into your wedding. And maybe you’re not doing a seating chart (hallelujah), but you could use this as your welcome for programs if you’re both avid travelers. Or if you’re both lawyers put tiny gavels with their escort cards. Just make it fun, I promise it will be the best conversation starter.

5. Acrylic Drink Sticks

These come in all shapes, sizes and colors. From super modern names to traditional crests. Guests love a stick to stir their drink.

4. Accent Pillows

If you have a lounge area I highly encourage you to have pillows with your monogram, or if you have a specific design of your linens use that. These are special pieces that you can use on your front porch at your home or on your couch in your living room.

3. Coasters

It’s pretty customary to have bistro tables at your reception. Some people just aren’t wired to sit at a reception. These biodegradable coasters are the perfect addition to your bistro tables. It’s a great, affordable way to add a special touch to your reception.

2. Personalized Crossword Puzzle

This was probably the most talked about thing at my last wedding. It gave guests something to do during golden hour photos and was unique to the couple. I will say, don’t make the questions too difficult, it should be easy for the people you love to complete.

  1. Trucker Hats

Never in my life have I seen a dance floor prop be gobbled up so incredibly fast as these trucker hats were. We incorporated the groom’s family’s corporate logo into his hat and used the crest on hers. These were gone faster than I could think to bring the stand out.

Regardless of what you choose for your custom items, your guests will love them if they are an extension of you. Get creative, think outside the box and do something never done before or something that is super retro and bring it back better than ever!
